March 5, 2021 – This week, Blossom Hill wrapped up its second round of vaccine clinics for individuals and staff who were eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine under Ohio’s 1a & 1b groupings. People in these groupings who wanted the vaccine were able to get both doses thanks to new and old partnerships.
The first round of vaccine clinics was hosted by Koinonia Homes where they generously accepted Blossom Hill individuals and staff into their clinic slots. Blossom Hill was also able to host its own clinic later in January with support from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.
Blossom Hill also invited two other agencies serving developmentally disabled individuals, L’Arche Cleveland and Welcome House, to receive the vaccine doses to “pay it forward.”
During the second clinic at Blossom Hill, the clinic team members had leftover doses of the newly released Johnson & Johnson vaccine and were able to invite North Royalton Police Officers to receive the vaccine.
The Blossom Hill team is grateful for these community partnerships that ultimately benefit all of us as we move closer to “back to normal.”
